How is seed cotton stored in cotton gins?

Today, the products produced at the cotton enterprise (fiber, sliver, lint, and fluff) are stored in closed warehouses, packaged and labeled (packaged, marked) in accordance with the requirements of Uzbek Standard 641:1997.

The technical cotton seeds obtained from processing are stored in closed warehouses with active ventilation, free from various odors, in separate bundles of industrial varieties and selections and are sent to buyers.

In particular, this year, 6.3 thousand tons of cotton were grown by 148 farms in the Kosonsoy district of the Namangan region. Special attention is also being paid in the district to the cultivation of seed cotton, which forms the core of valuable industrial raw materials. According to information, a total of 4 farms in the Kosonsoy district produced a total of 97.4 tons of crop in 2024 in the seed direction, and all of it has been harvested these days. Their reception, bundle and storage are being carried out at 1 reception point belonging to the “Namangan Cotton Teks” cluster in the district.

To date, a total of 97.4 tons of seed cotton have been collected, of which 97.4 tons have been collected in the reserve fund. It is projected that 51.2 tons of seed cotton will be collected from 97.4 tons of seed cotton. The cotton in separate batches is stored in accordance with Article 25 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Seed Production” and Uz DSt 642:2013 Seed Cotton. Technical conditions are ensured based on state standards. This process is constantly monitored by specialists of the Namangan regional department of “Uzagroinspection”. The main attention is paid to the collection of 48-49 tons of seed cotton received from farms into separate batches depending on the selection variety, generation, varietal purity, field group, industrial variety, origin, class.
