COTTON-2023: more than 200 harvesters are ready for the season in Tashkent region

In 2023, 70 thousand 161 hectares of cotton were grown in the region. Contractual agreements were concluded with 1,222 farms and 6 cotton-textile clusters for growing 261,000 tons of raw cotton in these areas.

The farmers of Tashkent region, who have enjoyed every passing moment of the golden autumn, are approaching the season summary. One of the most important tasks in the field is to collect the cotton crop grown in the fields without pollination. Thorough preparations are being made for this.

Defoliation activities in the fields are being qualitatively organized with field experts.

In order to organize the season, the necessary equipment, 209 harvesting machines, 1 thousand 818 tractor trailers, 968 harvesting squads are being organized, and the necessary conditions for harvesters are being created on farms. The aim of cotton growers is to build a threshing floor of 260,000 tons of "white gold".

Tashkent region governor Zoyir Mirzaev, sector heads, district sector heads, representatives of the agricultural sector, farmers and heads of harvesting squads took part in the seminar held in Boka district. It discussed the work done on the quick and organized organization of the cotton harvesting season, harvesting without destroying the crop, and it was emphasized that the shortcomings should be eliminated immediately.

Given that the cotton cluster and farmers' equipment are in working condition, the necessary recommendations and tasks were given to form squads, encourage pickers, prepare suitable beds for pickers, and prepare conditions for pickers to eat at the beginning of each field where picking is being done.

Efforts in this regard are continuing in other districts.
