The proverb “Good seed is the key to a bountiful harvest” is not without reason, which is widespread among our people. In achieving productivity, the quality of the seed planted in the ground is one of the main factors. Therefore, in recent years, a system of quality seed production and control has been consistently established in our country.
Currently, in accordance with the requirements of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 641 dated October 12, 2021, a number of control and practical measures are being implemented to prepare high-quality seed grain for the 2025 harvest.
During these processes, the Inspection bodies organize seminars on the basis of current regulatory documents on the ground, and provide necessary recommendations and instructions to employees of the relevant organizations.
In the Samarkand region, 324 farms, elite seed farms and research institutes are cultivating grain crops on a total area of 8,138 hectares for the 2025 harvest. According to the plan, a total of 24 thousand tons of quality seed grain will be prepared from these areas. In particular:
Crops of the “Reproduction” generation are grown on 733 hectares,
“Superelita” – 6523 hectares,
“Elite” – 797 hectares.
Also, as stipulated in Chapter 4 of the resolution, approval work is being carried out on the areas sown for seed crops at the stages of milk ripening, wax ripening and full ripening for the variety and quality.
Today, in all districts of the region, employees of the regional department and district departments of “Uzagroinspection” have established constant control over the accumulation of high-quality seed grain from high-yielding grain varieties with a high level of variety for the 2026 harvest.
Through these measures, important steps are being taken to achieve stable yields in the grain sector of our country in the coming years, to increase export-oriented varieties, and to ensure food security.
