ATTENTION IS FOCUSED ON GROWING QUALITY SEED GRAIN FOR NEXT YEAR'S HARVEST IN SURKHANDARYA REGION

Providing guaranteed seeds is the most important and urgent process in achieving high yields and quality products from agricultural crops, and it requires high-quality testing.

In the climatic conditions of the Surkhandarya region, the field approval inspections of the seed fields of spiked grain crops are held every year at the beginning of May by the commissions that conduct the approval of grain in milk, wax ripening and ripening phases.

This year, 181 farmers, elite seed farms and scientific research institutes have set to prepare 22,157 tons of high-quality and high-quality seed grain on 6,758 hectares of grain fields in the region.

The regional department and district departments of the "Uzagroinspection" are carrying out control measures over the processes of preparing for the collection of seed grain from high-yielding, high-quality varieties of grain crops, strictly adhering to the requirements of the Regulations approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 641 dated October 12, 2021, and excluding from the seeding and declaring as unsuitable areas with non-varietal impurities and weeds.

Also, in accordance with the relevant articles of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Seed Production", the responsible persons of the grain enterprise "Surkhandonmahsulotlari" JSC and their grain receiving facilities and the "Center for the Development of Seed Production" system were issued warning letters to the heads of the approbation commission to comply with the requirements of the standards for separate placement and storage of grain varieties when receiving seed materials this year to prevent mixing, and to conduct field approbation tests based on the established requirements.

The goal is to collect seed grain from high-yielding eared grain varieties with high varietal quality indicators for the 2026 grain harvest in the region.
