Preparations are underway to plant seeds for the 2024 cotton harvest.

Our people have a saying: “Sarah’s seed is the guarantee of a bountiful harvest.” According to experienced cotton growers, to obtain a good cotton harvest, the quality of the seeds that are planted in the ground is important.

Therefore, our country is currently carrying out cleaning and sorting of seeds, depilation and treatment of crops from diseases and pests.

In 2023, Kashkadarya farmers grew 12,229 tons of high-quality seed cotton. This year it is planned to sow 133 thousand 200 hectares of early cotton varieties Bukhara-102, Porlok-4, Bukhara-10, Ravnak-2 and S-82-90 suitable for climatic conditions.

Currently, taking into account the main seed fund of the 2024 cotton harvest, 5 thousand 873 tons of seeds are being cleaned, sorted, depilated and treated against diseases and pests of agricultural crops.

In particular, in the seed procurement workshop of Bunyodkor LLC in Koson district, all necessary measures were taken for the timely and high-quality implementation of this event, which is one of the important factors in yield. The introduction of modern foreign technologies into the workshop is an important factor in the sharp increase in seed quality and production volumes. A sufficient number of bags and labels have been created for packaging seeds and chemicals.

In one day, 216 tons of hairy and 80 tons of naked seeds are sorted. These processes are constantly monitored. Responsible officials were given preventive explanations, instructions and warnings to prevent violations of the law.

During the control activities carried out, recommendations are given on the importance of seed treatment in protecting cotton from diseases and pests and its quality.

Of course, timely and high-quality implementation of these activities will create the basis for a high cotton harvest by farmers in the region this year.
