Defoliation is an important agricultural measure.

A practical seminar-council dedicated to quality defoliation of cotton was held in "Galaba" area of ​​Kasbi district.

The deputy governor of the region U. Uzokov, the head of the regional administration of "Uzagroinspeksiya" S. Donayev, as well as district sector heads, all representatives of agriculture and farmers participated in the event. it was noted that cotton defoliation is one of the important agrotechnical measures.

When defoliation is carried out correctly, not only the complete shedding of leaves is ensured, the bolls in cotton ripen 10-15 days earlier, the weight of the first skin increases by 15-20%, and high-quality raw materials are obtained. the size of the item has increased. In addition, the defoliant has an effective effect on cotton diseases and pests, especially on areas affected by black aphids. This agrotechnical measure eliminates boll weevils that cause black aphids and dramatically reduces boll and fiber rot.

The most important thing is that timely and high-quality defoliation ensures efficient cotton harvesting and productivity. It creates favorable conditions for early harvest by planting high-quality autumn grain crops. Otherwise, winter wheat planted between rows of cotton with poor or no defoliation will not fully germinate.

The seminar discussed the issues of preparation for defoliation of cotton fields, in particular, repair of OVX sprayers, creation of stock of defoliants, organization of sites for preparation of working solution and ensuring quality of defoliation.

The participants of the seminar were given the necessary tasks and instructions regarding the quality implementation of defoliation activities and the advantages of harvesting cotton with the help of harvesters, as well as the organization of timely payment of wages to the workers and mechanics involved in this process.

As noted, defoliation is planned to be held on 133 thousand 50 hectares of cultivated cotton fields in the regions this year.

In particular, 303 OVX sprayers are planned to participate in this event.
