A training-practical seminar was held on the field approval inspection in the seed cotton fields of "Zamin Angor cluster" LLC in the "10th anniversary of independence" area of Angor district, Surkhandarya region.
The seminar was attended by the heads of the Surkhandarya regional department of "Uzagroinspektsiya", the regional department of agriculture and their district departments, as well as representatives of other organizations related to the field.
In the Surkhandarya region, 211 subjects who passed the tender competition for the right to grow seed cotton from the harvest of 2024 are cultivating high-generation varieties of cotton for seed cotton cultivation on 7 thousand 684 hectares. To date, experts have conducted three monitoring activities in these areas, and 260 hectares of the area were found to be unsuitable for receiving seeds due to disease and pest infestation, weed infestation, and other reasons.
The task now is to wisely select the areas where seed cotton will be harvested for next year's crop.
At the training seminar, the relevant assignments were given to all organizations in the agricultural system, mainly to the members of the commission on the approval of the areas where seeds are collected in the regions and districts, on the selection of quick-growing, fruitful, disease- and pest-resistant varieties suitable for the region's soil and climate conditions from the 2024 cotton harvest.
A number of tasks have been defined in the regional administration and district departments of "Uzagroinspektsiya" regarding the supervision of the approval inspection.
