COTTON-2024: for the first time, about 1,700 cotton picking machines are expected to participate in the season

This year, a total of 1,690 cotton picking machines are planned to be used in cotton harvesting across the country, of which 609 cotton picking machines will be purchased under a new lease in 2024.

In particular, in terms of models, there are 215 units of CASE, 286 units of John Deere, 230 units of MX-1.8, 449 units of TZST CE220, 473 units of Boshiran and 37 units of other types of cotton picking machines.

1,423 or 84 percent of the cotton picking machines are high-efficiency machines. Especially if the cotton field is properly prepared at the level of agrotechnical requirements for machine picking, the productivity of each new generation cotton picking machine is up to 50 tons per day, and it can replace 800-1000 pickers.

This year, for the first time, it is expected that more than 600 high-efficiency cotton picking machines will be delivered to local farms and clusters on the basis of preferential leasing conditions.

In order to further support picking with the help of cotton pickers, according to the decision of the Government No. 574 dated September 13, 2024, 20 percent of the price of the picking service for each ton of raw cotton harvested by cotton pickers in all regions this year, however, the part not exceeding 250,000 soums will be covered from the funds of the Fund.

As a result of these privileges and opportunities, cotton picking machines have been launched today in all regions of the republic.

In terms of regions, most of the cars participating in the season belong to the following regions. In particular, in 2024, 406 units of cotton will be picked in Jizzakh, 281 units in Kashkadarya, 201 units in Syrdarya, 184 units in Tashkent and 108 units in Namangan.
