For the 2024-harvest, 202 thousand 798 hectares of potato crops have been planted in the main areas of all categories of farms and vegetable gardens in the territories of the republic, preliminary calculations have been made for the cultivation and harvest of 4 million 110 thousand 148 tons. potato harvest from these sown areas.
According to calculations, the average yield of 1 hectare of potato planted in the Republic is expected to be 203 centners.
In order to obtain a high yield from the potato crop in the republic, together with the staff of "Ozagroinspektsiya" and scientists of the Scientific Research Institute of Vegetables, Crops and Potatoes, a recommendation on the cultivation of table potatoes and seed potatoes was developed and delivered to all regional departments of the inspectorate, and these recommendations were distributed to all potato-growing entities in the districts. "Uzagroinspektsiya" took control of personal delivery.
In this recommendation, starting from the morphology of potato seeds, the compatibility of potato varieties with the soil and climatic conditions of each region and their inclusion in the state register for these regions, the classification of potato varieties, the preparation of areas for planting potatoes, the collection of seed potatoes, the norms for planting potato seeds, as well as obtaining a high yield from the areas planted with potatoes detailed recommendations on carrying out agrotechnical activities, feeding periods and standards with mineral and organic fertilizers, treatment against diseases and pests in potato fields, harvesting and storage of potato crops.
In 2024, about 150 thousand tons of seeds will be required for about 45,000-50,000 hectares of land that is planned to be sown in the regions.
During the planting season, the availability of domestic and foreign seed potatoes with a certificate of conformity and their delivery to farms, clusters and other agricultural enterprises within the specified time limits, as well as the storage of seeds in warehouses where seed potatoes are stored in compliance with the requirements of the State Standards, is controlled by "Uzagroinspektsiya".
