SEED GRAINS — THE BASIS OF A QUALITY HARVEST

Seed grain is one of the main agrotechnical factors in agriculture, which plays an important role in achieving high yields, ensuring food security, and producing high-quality agricultural products. High seed quality directly affects crop germination, disease resistance, and productivity. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the selection and preparation of seed grain.

In the Kyzyltepa district of Navoi region, a total of 14 entities are planting and cultivating seed grain on 530.9 hectares of land for the 2025 seed grain harvest.

For the 2025 seed grain harvest, farms in the district are growing wheat varieties "Gurt", "Alekseich", "Asr", "Vassa" and "Grom", and the Navoi ITS "Grain and Legume Crops ITI" is growing "Temeryazevka-150, "Grom", "Graf", "Akhmad", "Asr" and "Ultra".

In these seed grain fields, farms applied 800 kilograms of mineral fertilizers per hectare and 5 tons of local fertilizers per hectare, and irrigation was carried out using the juice method.

At the same time, work was carried out on foliar feeding of seed grain crops with biostimulants (suspension) and processing of grain fields with chemical agents against weeds, diseases and harmful insects (herbicide, fungicide, insecticide) based on resource-saving technologies. Currently, seed grain fields are developing in the earing phase.

The Kyzyltepa district department of the Uzagroinspection is providing practical assistance to farms and other organizations in the district with relevant warning letters, necessary recommendations and practical assistance in ensuring the timely and high-quality implementation of the requirements established by the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-106 dated January 28, 2022 “On additional measures for the further development of seed production of agricultural crops” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 641 dated October 12, 2021 “On approval of regulatory legal acts on seed production of agricultural crops”.

Of course, seed grain is the foundation of agriculture. Its quality and correct selection directly affect the efficiency of labor throughout the year.
